Notemirror

This is a personal project I am currently working on.

Writing and displaying music in the browser is a nightmare! There are few good open source solutions to display music sheets on the web.

I want to create a web component that renders notes not in a canvas, but directly in html. There are a standards such as SMuFL that allow using font files for musical symbols, so browsers already support the most important necessary part. However, music sheets are quite complex, that's why this project requires CSS Subgrid - which is not available in Chromium browsers yet (but possibly soon). I plan to open source it then.

There are a lot of fun things to do with this once it is ready. A project that could be interesting is a music search engine that finds music based on a note input.
